My current event this week is on former sen. on Collin Powell and how he says that he backs Obama and you can read more at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27265369/ . This morning Oct 19, 2008 Collin Powell endorsed Sen. Obama for president. He also criticized his own republican party for what he called a narrow focus on personal attacks over a serious approach to presidential challenges. Powell clearly stated he was not supporting Obama because his race. He said he had watched both Obama and his republican opponent Sen. McCain for many months and thought "either one of them would be a good president." But he said McCain’s choices in the last few weeks especially his selection of Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate had raised questions in his mind about McCain’s judgment. “I don’t believe Palin is ready to be president of the United States,” Powell said flatly. By contrast, Obama’s running mate, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, “is ready to be president on day one.”
I found this harder to summarize than the rest because it has lots of conversation and dialogue. This story comes off unbiased to me though. Something to me is missing and that's why is it that he doesn't think Palin isn't ready but Biden is. My opinion is not much into it because this isn't really gonna effect the elections outcome. This is a big important story because its our politicians and are in charge of our government. That is also how it affects my life.

I am also interested as to why Powell finds Biden 100%ready to lead on day one. Clearly Powell is very well-respected. You don't think his opinions/endorsement could sway undecided voters?
